Customer service representative

 

Reports to:  Director of operations

 

General description:

 

As a member of the CSD team, complete assigned daily tasks that will ensure timely responses to customer inquiries and ensure inter-departmental projects are processed fully and accurately so information is used by other departments to process their work in an orderly fashion that is beneficial to the overall company goals and objectives.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Process customer phone calls and on-line requests or other forms of inquiry and reply to those with sales member professionalism, resulting in new customer orders
  • Ensure the CSD department is properly staffed to received incoming phone calls at all times during office hours (currently 8:30 am - 5:00 pm)
  • Receive daily RFQs (request for quotation) and review for completeness of information to properly process RFQ into Visual Manufacturing (ERP system)
  • Be able to identify challenging or complex RFQs and review those with other department heads to ensure accurate product pricing, identifying potential for increase of our profit possibilities
  • Develop and track standard sales/market pricing trends on defined product lines vs. cost of manufacturer for product lines assigned to you to ensure continued competitiveness and profitability
  • Follow standard guidelines in pricing RFQs in ERP system using CSD tools and resources to ensure all RFQs meet process timeline standards
  • Negotiate with sales channel partners and end users all items to meet customer satisfaction while allowing MPI to be successful
  • Comply with work order instructions to accurately enter information into ERP system
  • Process all CSD documents in a timely manner to ensure that information is properly distributed following CSD guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and well organized workstation area

Required computer skills:  

  • Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Acrobat

Preferred skills:   

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years' experience in quoting and costing industrial equipment
  • Strong knowledge of conveying equipment
  • Strong knowledge in estimating, machining, welding, laser cutting
  • Knowledge of magnetic separation processes
  • AutoCAD preferred, Visual Manufacturing

North American sales manager

 

Reports to:  Director of operations

 

General description:

 

This management position reports directly to the director of operations and is responsible for the tactical and strategic sales and marketing plan development, implementation, monitoring and reporting for all MPE/MPI product market segments.  This position is also responsible for day-to-day management of all external sales and marketing staff.  This position requires extensive weekly and occasional weekend overnight travel (75%) throughout the defined territory in accordance with the annual territory business plan.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all MPI territory sales and marketing as defined by market segment
  • Establish, train, support, monitor performance and manage MPI sales channel partners and staff including sales, customer service and marketing   
  • Develop, implement and monitor annual sales and marketing plan to achieve gross profit targets by market segment 
  • Identify and coordinate sales activities of key accounts
  • Assist as needed in new product development
  • As a member of the management team, support other MPI initiatives and projects beyond assigned areas of operations
  • Provide technical product presentations at trade shows
  • Set-up and support trade shows nationally

Part-time database / report designer

 

Reports to:  Director of operations

 

General description:

 

This position will design and develop unique metric reports and processes that empower our employees and decision makers with the information needed to drive better operations, analyze success of department and individual performance goals, and analyze success and profitability of products and better understand customer preferences and behavior.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with stakeholders to understand current and possible future reporting needs
  • Gain knowledge and understanding of the business to determine which key performance metrics are required to provide better intelligence in reporting
  • Design and develop unique reports and data-search templates
  • Responsible for data quality in reports
  • Develop reports for SSRS
  • Coordinate with administrator to provide convenient yet secure access to reporting
  • Work with systems administrator to keep our database and reporting service environments up-to-date and well-maintained

Required qualifications:  

  • Strong knowledge of SQL with ability to write and tune complex queries
  • Knowledge of T-SQL and SSIS
  • Ability to design and create stored procedures, triggers, views and indexes 
  • Strong experience writing and publishing reports for SSRS using Report Builder 3.0
  • Knowledge of relational database design and data warehouse design concepts
  • Effective communication skills, task management skills and ability to discuss tactical/strategic issues with management

Preferred qualifications:   

  • Experience with Visual, data cubing and OLAP
  • Experience designing workflows
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment a plus
  • Experience developing BI/dashboard components using tools like BIDS, PerformancePoint and PowerPivot. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP a plus.

Mechanical designer/engineer

Reports to:  Engineering manager

 

General description:

 

This person will represent MPI’s standards of excellence while executing his/her day-to-day responsibilities using strong mechanical aptitude, analytical skills, creativity, and interpersonal/efficient communication skills to support product innovation, design and testing. The ideal candidate will support all internal customers and support our internal departments to ensure successful growth within the industry.

 

He/she will possess a high aptitude in the R&D process, design engineering using Inventor and Auto CAD, and knowledge of the following processes: CNC CO2 laser; CNC press brake; CNC turret punch; hydraulic shear; hydraulic press brake; CNC turning center; CNC vertical milling center; honing machine; Bridgeport; lathe; welding; overhead cranes; and painting. 

 

Core responsibilities:

  • Support the team in product development and design using Invertor and Auto CAD to create 3-D models/approval drawings and 2D manufacturing prints for production build/assembly.   
  • Work with our customer service and manufacturing departments to ensure product design, performance and product quality expectations during quote and assembly. 
  • Design complete assemblies and individual details from customer concept illustrations.
  • Must be able to perform pre-development product testing, generate test report findings, develop solution concepts, generate bill of materials with material specification, generate drawings with tolerances, create assembly routers, and define weld and finish specifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills / experience: 

  • Engineering degree or technical background in mechanical engineering is preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical design in a manufacturing environment (custom equipment), (mechanical solutions) [AUTOCAD 2008-(2D)] (from sheet metal to machining) required.
  • Strong background in conveyor design (belt, magnetic, roller, etc.) and/or magnetic separation design is a major plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical skills and background in machinery and equipment standards, common to the machine building industry, to perform machine design.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
    Expert knowledge in AUTOCAD and Inventor software; CNC programming and Visual Manufacturing software experience a major plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Previous fabrication or design shop experience is a major plus.

Safety equipment required: 

  • Must wear safety eyeglasses. In addition, a hard hat and hearing protection may be required.
